Waterjet cutting
Water-jet cutting technology allows complex shapes to be cut in a variety of materials to narrow tolerances. Materials can include stone, glass, steel, composites such as Kevlar and carbon fibre, and even materials such as rubber and wood. Water-jet is perfect for the production of one offs pieces and short runs, as well as greater numbers where complexity would make any other process economically unfeasible.
Westcut’s twin head Bystronic water/abrasive machine can cut items of up to approximately 3m x 1.5m size and to a depth of 200mm. Because no heat is produced or used, material integrity is maintained. Edges are left beautifully finished, needing no further machining.
If you think Water-jet cutting may solve a problem for you, or open new opportunities, we may be able to help, why not give us a ring on 01225 707377 or contact us by email. We’ll be happy to offer advice and guidance.
